Professor Chuck Gauss Modern Arnis Seminar

Modern Arnis training with Professor of Tapi Tapi Chuck Gauss and rank testing immediately following the seminar.

Professor of Tapi-Tapi Chuck Gauss is one of only 7 Masters of Tapi-Tapi in the world. Professor Gauss began training and traveling with Professor Presas in 1991. Professor Gauss is also actively involved with self defense training for law enforcement personnel. In 2000, Professor Gauss and 6 others were promoted by Professor Presas to Master of Tapi-Tapi which was declared by Professor Presas as the highest level of proficiency in the art of Modern Arnis. He has extensive experience teaching in seminar and camp settings. In addition, Professor Gauss holds a 9th Dan in Ryukyu Kempo Karate under Professor George Dillman.

Modern Arnis employs the use of rattan canes, empty hand, feet, locks and throws for self defense. One of the main training tools is tapi-tapi, a counter for counter exchange in which the arnisadors try to outwit each other’s abilities to counter a variety of attacks. Technical skill, awareness, and flow is emphasized over the use of brute force, making it excellent training for a variety of skill levels.
